"In France, since 2009, the growth in the number of craft breweries has not been denied (200 to 1000 breweries between 2009 and 2017 – Source Insee ). Their brewing processes represent a real challenge in the production and treatment of wastewater . Generated in large volumes, the discharge of this water contains a high content of organic matter and cannot have a neutral pH. This problem can overload the capacity of municipal wastewater treatment plants and lead to additional costs."
